Liveblogging the First Debate XXXVII

Bush is emphasizing that we’ll be safe (and with an all-volunteer army, by the way). We’ll spread freedom and a free Iraq and Afghanistan will serve as a powerful example.

About time Bush used some Reaganesque rhetoric: “We’ve climbed the mighty mountain and can see the valley of peace.”

Bush asked for our votes, which Kerry, oddly, did not.
