Satire?

Jim Treacher has written something he calls “satire” for Opinion Journal. I don’t plan to quote it - check it for yourself if you like.  It amazes me that the Left fails to understand it can’t use the same talking points for satire as well as serious discourse (at least, as serious as they can get).  I suppose it could be a self-parody, but that would make this a unique specimen.

Update

I’ve looked into this and apparently, Jim Treacher is considered a droll humorist and this piece was supposed to be a parody of the Left and Treacher is ostensibly not a Kerry supporter. I’ll accept that - it was published by the WSJ after all - but I still didn’t find it all that funny. Of course, there are those who disagree.
